New Tai Chi Basics (Shortform)

 

Wednesdays 10am - 11pm

 

Tai Chi is the ancient art of moving meditation and promotes balance, strength and flexibility. Tai Chi is based on the principle of Yin/Yang. Kenn and Vicki have been teaching together for 30+ years.

Short Form Tai Chi (Beginning)

 

Wednesdays 12pm - 1pm

Thursdays 12pm - 1pm

Basic warm up technique: Grounding, balance, centering. First set of Short Form.

Long Form Tai Chi (Advanced)

 

Tuesdays 10am - 11am

Thursdays 11am - 12pm

Tai Chi is the ancient art of moving meditation and promotes balance, strength and flexibility. Tai Chi is based on the principle of Yin/Yang. Once a student has mastered the Short Form they may proceed, by invitation to the advanced, LONG FORM class.  LONG FORM consists of the SHORT FORM EXPANDED with new moves added to make a total of 108 moves.

Feldenkrais
With Kenn Chase & Vicki Chase

Wednesday 11am - 12pm

Developed by Moshe Feldenkrais as way to heal himself after a paralyzing accident he applied the principles of physics to his own healing and regained full function.  Lessons are generally done on the floor and are guided by a certified Practitioner.  The emphasis is on being aware of one's limits and working within those boundaries allowing for the gentle release of tension and holding in our musculature.  One learns from their own body to free themselves of habitual patterns which constrain and limit full movement, thus gaining greater range of motion and mobility. 

 

The Feldenkrais Method integrates movement with awareness, sensing and feeling.  It offers expanded potential in creativity, problem solving and productivity.

Health benefits include: improved balance, improved flexibility, improved focus and concentration, and more.

Pilates Mat

With Maria Ismen

Saturdays 8:30 - 9:30am

Gain stability, flexibility, strength and better balance in this mat class. The exercises are adaptable to any fitness level, and we modify accordingly. Bring your mat and a roller, if you have one, and join us for a rewarding hour of Pilates.

Fees: Series of 6 consecutive classes: $90
Drop in: $20
