Your wedding is a special day and we at Dance Arts Studios want to help make it extra special. With so many guests watching you at your wedding – your first dance could become a horrible and embarrassing experience without the proper preparation… or it could be fun and memorable.We want you to have the best experience possible, so we have prepared a few Frequently Asked Questions that will help you prepare for Your First Dance.
Q: What’s the difference between private lessons and group classes?
A: In a private lesson, you will be working one-on-one with one of our professional dance instructors. Private lessons are the most effective and the fastest way to learn. You will be able to work specifically on your first dance. Group classes should be used to supplement your private lessons – you will find that a combination of the two will actually help your learning process.
Q: What dances should we learn?
A: Your first dance will depend on the song that you choose. Some of the more popular wedding dances include Waltz, Foxtrot, Rumba, Night Club Two-Step, and Swing.
Q: What do we need to bring/wear for lessons?
A: Bring the CD with your first song on it. Wear light, comfortable clothing, and, most importantly, the shoes you will be wearing at the wedding, or shoes similar to them. Break ‘em in!
We know that you have lots of things to think about when planning your wedding, especially the week or two before. Dancing should be an enjoyable experience, so start preparing early. We suggest at least 3 or 4 months before the wedding date.

- Call to Register
- Choose your song (if you need assistance, our instructors can do this during the 1st lesson)
- Make your 1st appointment and begin dancing!
We also offer a package for the bride and groom’s parents. After the Wedding Special, we do offer other additional packages of private lessons and group classes. Please refer to our Tuition page for more details.
